Joe Pendleton

Joe Pendleton is a decorated senior investigator and administrator with over 32 years of police experience. Joe has been involved in the direct supervision and management of operational and investigative police teams since 1993. Prior to implementing and managing the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) on behalf Service Alberta, Joe Pendleton held the Identity Theft Portfolio for the Economic Crimes Section of the Edmonton Police Service and is widely considered to be one of the foremost Identity Theft experts in Canada. Joe has also served as a consultant in the establishment of specialized investigative and enforcement teams as well as in the implementation of Facial Recognition Systems (FRS).

Joe Pendleton is highly skilled and experienced in all aspects of organizational review and restructuring. As a pioneer member of the Edmonton Police Service’s highly vaunted and award winning Planning and Evaluation and Community Based Policing Section, Joe was directly involved in the design, implementation and evaluation of the Edmonton Police Services most significant projects throughout the previous decade including:

  • The Edmonton Police Services Organizational Review - 1992
  • The Edmonton Police Services Community Based Policing Initiative - 1993-1995
  • The Edmonton Police Services Fear of Crime Project - 1995
  • The Edmonton Police Services/KPGM Value Audit 1998

Since transitioning from the EPS, Joe has been directly responsible for: The establishment of the Special Investigations Unit for Service Alberta - 2003
